Population: ~12.5 million sapients

Natural resources: Iron, Gold, Coal, Gemstones
~SUMMARY~
The cave dimension is what it sounds like: an entire world that is basically an endless, gigantic cave. It is filled with endless creatures, such as Bone Spiders, Cave Slimes, Grue, and older, ancient beasts. Because most of these creatures are predatory, exploration is unadvised. However, the few brave explorers that venture past the lights of cave city take blimps, as few creatures are capable of flight, and airplanes would not be maneuverable enough in the tight confines of parts of the cave.
~CAVE CITY~
Cave city was originally established as a hastily – erected outpost made by explorers and prospectors seeking to make their fortune mining the endless cave’s resources. Walls were quickly built out of logs imported from yggdrasil, and sentries stood round – the – clock watch to warn the camp if an attack by the cavern’s native creatures was imminent. They used a system of beacons stretching from the camp’s center to where the recess of the cavern the settlement was built ended and opened up into a vast, deep ravine over 3400 feet tall, from the water at the bottom to the roof of the fissure. If the sentry tower saw an approaching monster or group of monsters, they would quickly extingush their bonfire, and this message would be passed back to the camp. As the monster(s) approached, the sentries would extingush their fires in turn, due to the light possibly attracting certain monsters which could see in the infrared spectrum, and would mistake the fire for prey. The sentries at the main camp would see the fires going out, which would let them know how far away the monsters were. This would give them time to prepare for the oncoming attack.
Around six months later, and the mining expedition was in dire straits. Food was running out, their stockade was falling down, and the monsters showed no sign of stopping their near – constant attack. Most of the miners considered themselves dead, and the mission a failure. Luckily, salvation appeared in the form of a blond, thin young man dressed in red named Casimir Novachek. He explained that he was a young mage, that was willing to give the colony a second chance, as long as he could have ten percent of the profits from the resulting outpost’s exports. The men, believing they were dead anyway, took his offer. (Author’s note: I must emphasize how rare of an occurrence this was. Most people regarded magic – wielders as psychopathic, murderous tyrants, and agreeing to letting one help you was seen as suicidal. The only likely reason the miners took the deal is believed they were going to die by the monsters anyway, so they had nothing to lose.) Most were wary of him at first, but he gained the trust of the colony when he killed a giant bone spider singlehandedly, saving lives and possibly the camp. After this, they near – unanimously elected him head of the colony, and they started to rebuild. Casimir showed to be remarkably intellegent for his age, and worked with the miners defending the walls as well as the ones smelting the ores, which made him a god among men to the miners. A steady influx of migrants from Yggdrasil continued to fill the camp, and soon the camp was a thriving community. Upon the striking of a large vein of platinum, the city’s population swelled, and soon had over ten thousand inhibatants. (It goes without saying that Casimir was STUPID rich by now.) Migrants kept coming for seventy years, until the city grew to a population of 1.3 million. Then, Casimir, who was revered by the city, died peacefully in his sleep at the age of 93. (Author’s note: Again, this is unheard of. Most mages die in their thirties and forties, from being murdered for their powers. Casimir Novachek is the longest – living mage on verifiable record, by a margin of 21 years.) When he died, he passed his position onto his son, Absolom, who ran the city from his father’s death when he was 19 until his murder by unknown circumstances at age 53. Cave city is currently run by Absolom’s adopted son, Samuel.
Monsters:
Cave slimes: (Also known as “Goo”) These are shifting blobs of ooze that can range from the size of a backpack to hundreds of feet tall. They individually are only as big as a typical housecat, but they can combine to form giant, towering blobs of slime that could dwarf any human. A goo (goo is used as the term for when more than one cave slime is in one slime) can range from 2 – 99 slimes, with MegaGoos (actual term) ranging from 100 – 499, and HyperGoos (again, actual term) being 500 or more. Chart to compare sizes: (remember, these are represented as spheres. Since the amount of slime would be measured in meters cubed, you are seeing the actual sizes relative to each other. That is why the “500” goo looks only about 8 times bigger than a single slime. They can get much, much larger.)
Giant Bone Spiders: are far different from your regular spiders. Giant cave spiders are as big as a small house and will make treats of anything, including the occasional careless adventurer. They are the most dangerous creature in the caverns, excluding some ancient, forgotten beasts, as they as they feel no pain, have natural armor, cannot be stunned, can poison creatures and have the ability to shoot webs to ensnare their prey, with a range of 20 feet.
