ADD Powers, ENGAGE!

So yeah, Theo has a rather short attention span. Also, if you couldn’t tell, Lars and Theo’s apartment isn’t in that great of a part of New York.

Anyway, what was it I wanted to talk about…

Oh yeah – I remember now. I’ve gotten a couple of questions involving if Theo is me. So I decided to set that all straight.

He’s not meant to be. While he originally was a lot more like me than he is now, him being me was kind of a subconscious act. I’ve tried my hardest to make him have flaws, but he hasn’t really been faced with any real challenges that require him to make a concerted effort and face any of his flaws, but the main one is that he’s rather naive. As I’ve stated in the comic, he doesn’t really hear any of Katrina’s warnings as he’s just so stunned that a world resembling a fantasy novel exists, he fails to realize that this world is real (as far as he knows), and henceforth fails to realize the danger he’s in.

I’ve also tried to make Theo not exactly like me – I am a much more cautious person than he is, and I would likely be standing as close to Katrina as I could without being a massive creep. Speaking of Katrina, she brings Theo’s other flaw. He feels he has to stick up for and look out for her, just because she’s a girl. In reality, Katrina is more than capable of handling herself, and gets rather annoyed when anyone feels that she has to be protected. (She tried to get Akila to stop “protecting” her, but Akila is just worried about losing Kat, who is the only human she feels any close connection with. Katrina gives her a pass for this, as it is out of actual worry instead of doing it because “She’s a girl and therefore needs to have someone look out for her.” Theo doesn’t realize he’s annoying her – he honestly feels what he is doing is the morally correct thing to do. He does it because he honestly cares about her, but, between us, if he wants to have any chance with her he needs to cut the chivalrous attitude.

Also, one last thing – That buggy creature behind Katrina is from a game I play. I’m thinking of doing game reviews – but don’t expect them anytime soon.
