Chapter 9, page 13: A million thoughts a minute
Hey guys! Sorry it took me a little bit to write the bottom text below the comic, and I apologize there wasn’t any last week, I just didn’t have much to really write about last week, or really at all, at least about the comic. On last week’s page: I think last week’s page was probably one of the better pages in a while, probably because I tried a different panel layout than the normal squareish ones. I don’t always have opportunities to do stuff like that, as it makes the page take a lot longer to draw than normal, as I have to plan everything out, and doing the backgrounds is more difficult as well. It does look good when I manage to pull it off, though, so I’m glad that panel with Kat holding Theo turned out well. I’d been planning that dance sequence for a long time – I still have the handwritten scripts for Theo and Kat talking from three years ago.
You might have noticed that the color between the panels at the moment is just completely white, which is mainly due to the fact that this is a really happy part of the comic, one that’s more or less danger – free, and everybody is having a good time, and stuff is changing for the better. However, given the story is only about 1/4 of the way through, stuff isn’t always going to stay this happy, so maybe enjoy it while it lasts. I’ll try and stop the comic from becoming really depressing and boring, and I’ve got the story planned out so there isn’t any part that doesn’t go on being sad for too long with no let up or intermission. That said, I’m not super good at actual comedy and jokes, so I’m not sure there will be too much of that sort of thing. I know the comic isn’t the most action – filled story, with a lot of characters just talking, and while there always will be some of that, I’m hoping for there to be a lot more actual story events soon.
