Hey guys! Hope you all are staying warm this winter! (Unless you’re from Australia or something, then it’s probably kinda nice out. Or maybe baking hot.) Anyway, get ready for the next big fight scene, and the first time there’s a major use of magic in a combat setting. A note on Theo’s shield thing: Every magic user has something they’re good at. Akila is good at mind control, Andromeda is good at stunning and healing, and Theo is good at blocking stuff. That said, this shield thing happened due to him being really afraid of dying, and he subconsciously made something to stop it from happening. In a nutshell, it’s a shield powered by his fear of dying, meaning he can’t just do it whenever he wants – he has to be in a life – threatening situation. The lady in white, (as I’ve taken to calling her) doesn’t really have this restriction, so she can use her powers whenever. Also, she doesn’t always wear white – for example, she wore that blue robe back at the start of chapter 8 – but this dress is her sort of iconic outfit, which I’ve always drawn her in, and since there was a scene with a dance, I thought it was a fitting time to put her in it. Not sure if she wears it regularly or just for this occasion. The gap between the legs of the dress is mainly for mobility, and less to look nice. That said, there is a legitimate reason for why the dress is the style it is, which you’ll see soon enough (or maybe already know, from some of the other art of her.)
My friend also drew this cute art of Akila, Theo and Kat, and I think it looks really nice! I’m always glad to get more rt of my characters in other people’s styles.
