2 hours and 39 minutes. This was also an easy page to draw, as I just had to re – draw the background.

I’m not sure what the treeborn orphanage was before it was an orphanage, (it had a brief use as a hotel, but it wasn’t built then,) and the secret passages don’t make it any easier to figure out what it was.

The one of the reasons Akila is so protective of Kat is mainly that Kat is basically her only friend. Most other humans are not used to Nereids as most people believe they’re just a myth, or went extinct years ago. Those that believe that they do exist are usually regarded as conspiracy theorists, as some people believe that sometime all the nereids will basically wage war and wipe out humanity because we’ve destroyed their homes and stuff. Nobody takes them seriously.
