Raw adamantine! Praise the miners!

That second panel is one of my favorites of any panel I’ve done so far. (He’s not ACTUALLY puking rainbows, It just seemed a good way to demonstrate how cool he thinks Katrina is.) Also, about Katrina – and actually all the characters – I try to make them look like people their age would actually look, (with the heads enlarged a bit). I’m trying to keep their body types realistic, and putting some variation in their proportions. (As opposed to the classic cliché of making some traits of female characters… exaggerated.) Also, everyone wears their collars popped on their robes. The more popped it is, the easier it is for them to kill you if they wanted to. (This is not in just my comic – Plenty of video games, such as DOTA 2, also have extremely popped collars, See pictures.)

Don't ask about "xtra crispy". I don't know either.

Other news: I’m still trying to figure out how to shade Theo’s hair. I’m actually thinking it looks good without shading, but I want realistic shading, so that’s the reason Theo’s hair is flat. And yes, it is impossible to go without sleeping. Eventually we would just keel over and fall asleep. Sleep is weird: Nobody really knows why we need it. I mean, it’s just like being unconscious, just during night. (My guess: It’s an evolved thing, from when we were just weird fish in a prehistoric ocean , that would stop us from going out at night so we wouldn’t get eaten. Just a guess.) I also figured out some more cave dimension lore: The endless cave is filled with all sorts of creatures, varying from the friendly ones, (Slime People, Luxen) to the unfriendly, (Giant millipedes, grue*) to the hostile (Bone Spiders, Giant bone spiders, and [SPOILER] monsters.) Basically, Giant bone spiders are these spindly legged spiders, standing about 17-20 feet tall when full grown, and they will “decorate” their bodies with the bones of their prey, effectively armoring them from sword attacks. However, they do not armor their legs, and the suggested course of action against one is to sever or disable the legs, from a distance if possible. (Bolas and cannon** are often used for this.)

*Singular form. As in “It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.” Grue has no plural form. The plural of grue is grue.

*The plural of cannon is cannon. Technically, the term “gun” should be used, as “cannon” is a specific barrel length from the days of wooden warships.
