NOTE:

NEXT WEEK’S COMIC WILL BE RATHER GRAPHIC. IF YOU ARE SQUEAMISH YOU MAY WANT TO AVOID NEXT WEEK’S PAGE.

Restraints on a chair. Never Good.

Rather simple comic this week.  Single panel, not much decoration, you get the idea. I think I’ve gotten pretty good at using shading and chiaroscuro – at least in a webcomic. (For those of you who don’t know art terminology, chiaroscuro is basically how you treat differing areas of light and dark in a picture or movie. For more information, click here. (For some my favorite examples of chiaroscuro in my comic, click here, here and here. I really like the way it looks.) The great thing about webcomics is that you don’t really need amazing art skills to make them – two of the most popular webcomics ever (XKCD and Order of the Stick) are drawn in stick figures, but there are others (such as Girl Genius and Crypts and Cantrips) that the art is AMAZING. The variation is massive, and there are thousands of comics out there, spanning every genre and style imaginable. There’s a comic for everybody.

I’ve been planning out my comic lately and I’m under a bit of a time crunch. I’ll try to get ahead on my comic the best I can, but if there is a drop in quality next week it is because I had to finish my comic page before my family’s trip to Canada.

In other news: I found a suitable theme song for my comic. You can listen to it here. (Note: I did not make this song. I have permission from the composer to use it as long as I’m not making any money off of it  – which I’m not.) I’ve also been working on Davis’ Character page – It’s not completely finished yet – but it’s progressing. (Slowly).
